Pro Traffic Exchanges Worth It?
August 18th, 2007 by: admin Comment (1)There’s been lot’s of talk over the last couple of years as to whether the Pro Only traffic exchange model is better than the free ones. It has been my experience that they are not. Pre-Qualified buyers is the term that get’s thrown around as being the main advantage to them. Question is, pre-qualified for what? Just because they paid $20 to join a traffic exchange, does not mean they are pre-qualified to buy your $20 Goji juice or whatever you’re selling. The other main problem with them is that they tend to be slow at delivering traffic. They start off like wildfire with lots of promotional efforts by the members. All of them trying to earn the almighty commission. There is a lot of surfing activity in the beginning with everyone reaching the minimum surfing requirement to activate their account. Then 3 months down the road, the activity begins to drop off the map. I’ve seen it happen with several in the past.
If you really want to pre-qualify buyers, in my experience the only way to do this is to create a great squeeze page that pertains to the product you will be selling. Build your list with this squeeze page and send them a newsletter that pertains to your product or business. If your squeeze page is on topic with your business or product and they optin to your list. Then they are obviously interested in what you’re selling. That is what pre-qualification is all about. Build yourself a targeted list and create a relationship with them.
It is my experience that all the people you can reach in the Pro Only exchanges are all members of the Free exchanges as well. So what is really the point to the Pro Only exchanges? Ahh, commissions that’s right. Well, guess what. The majority of the free exchanges offer those too.
The main thing I want you to pull out of reading this article though is to not promote or build downlines in traffic exchanges. It is a waste of time and effort. Instead, focus on building your own list.
Join up with a program likeInstant Squeeze Page Generator. It is a site that you can create your squeeze pages for free and they even provide you with products to give away to entice people to optin to your list.
Then take your squeeze page that you build there and promote it in a great exchange like mine

Final conclusion is that the Free Model traffic exchange is in fact superior to the Pro Only model. Good news is that there hasn’t been any Pro Only’s launched for a while now and hopefully it stays that way. I hate to see people wasting their time.

Good article Jack. I tend to agree with your assessment regarding pro only exchanges. I’ve had mixed luck with those exchanges and don’t see where they are any more advantageous than free exchanges. I did an article some time ago regarding inclusion vs exclusion and argued there, as I think you are here, that the day of the social elitist club is long gone. It’s now more cool to have bigger memberships vs small, elitist ones. For what it’s worth!
